While this Mark Twain endorsement may have been used for many years, THIS particular ad is from a 1904 magazine.  Also notice the statement "Sold on it's Merits for 25 years."

This 1908 ad shows that Wirt had also jumped on the "safety pen" wagon. A big selling point at this time was the word safety, which told the buyer it wouldn't leak but had no single defining style or attribute.
Cute ad from 1905.
This ad is from 1907 and features a cartoon of a little girl and a filigree pen.  It says Wirt pens have been the standard for 30 years, but that would be 1877, which is too early.
This 1905 ad features a pocket watch with Wirt pens as the hands.
This 1906 ad features a young girl writing with a Wirt pen.
This 1900 ad states that they have sold millions of Wirt pens and are unrivalled.  This was after a lawsuit stopped the sales of the Rival pen.
This 1904 ad states Wirt pens have been sold for 20 years.  Note the crown, the points are alternating nibs and the classic Wirt feeds.
This 1904 ad implies that a Wirt pen will fortify your business.
This 1909 ad features a Wirt pen as the steering column of an early car.
This 1905 ad tries to sell pens on the claim that they won't leak.
In this 1905 ad, it states that Wirt pens are invaluable at the "escritoire".  An escritoire is a writing desk and although I guessed that was the meaning, I had to look it up.
